Delicious and healthy apple fries made in an air fryer, perfect for a snack or dessert.

  • Total Time: 19 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large apples (Honeycrisp or Granny Smith)
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Nonstick cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Peel (optional) and cut apples into fry-like sticks. Pat dry with a paper towel to remove excess moisture.
  2. Set up coating stations with flour, whisked egg and milk, and the mixture of breadcrumbs, sugar, and cinnamon.
  3. Dredge each apple stick in flour, dip into the egg mixture, then coat with the breadcrumb mixture.
  4. Lightly spray the coated apple fries with nonstick spray. Place them in the air fryer basket in a single layer.
  5. Air fry at 380°F (190°C) for 7–9 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until golden and crispy.
  6. Serve warm with caramel dip, yogurt, or whipped cream.

Notes

Choose firm and crisp apples for the best texture. Add more sugar for sweeter fries, and experiment with spices for unique flavors.
