A classic Italian dessert made with coffee-soaked ladyfingers and a rich mascarpone mixture, perfect for impressing guests.

Ingredients

  • 6 egg yolks
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 1 1/4 cups mascarpone cheese
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup strong brewed coffee, cooled
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 24 ladyfingers
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, whisk together the egg yolks and sugar over medium heat until combined. Gradually add the milk, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens. Remove from heat and let cool.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the cooled egg mixture with the mascarpone cheese and vanilla, mixing until smooth.
  3. In another bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form and gently fold it into the mascarpone mixture.
  4. Dip each ladyfinger in the brewed coffee for 1-2 seconds and layer them in a dish.
  5. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers. Repeat with another layer of soaked ladyfingers and the remaining mascarpone mixture on top.
  6. Refrigerate for at least 240 minutes or overnight.
  7. Before serving, dust with cocoa powder. Enjoy!

Notes

For added flavor, consider adding a splash of coffee liqueur to the coffee before dipping the ladyfingers.
