Ingredients

Dry Ingredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder (optional, but recommended)
Wet Ingredients:
- ½ cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- ¾ cup buttermilk (or ¾ cup milk + 1 teaspoon lemon juice)
- 1 tablespoon honey (for a slight sweetness)
For Brushing:
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon dried parsley (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat & Prep
Heat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. - Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and garlic powder. - Cut in Butter
Add the cold cubed butter and use a pastry cutter or fork to cut it into the flour until you get a coarse, crumbly texture. - Add Cheese
Toss in the shredded cheddar and mix until evenly distributed. - Add Buttermilk & Honey
Pour in the buttermilk and honey, stirring just until the dough comes together. Don’t overmix! It should be slightly sticky. - Shape & Bake
Drop heaping spoonfuls onto the baking sheet (or use a biscuit cutter for round ones). Bake for 12-15 minutes, until golden brown. - Brush with Butter
Mix melted butter with garlic powder and parsley. Brush over warm biscuits for extra flavor.
