Ingredients

Scale
  • 500 grams chicken
  • 2 large onions, sliced
  • 2 tsp ginger garlic paste
  • 2 tsp red chilli powder
  • ¼ tsp turmeric powder
  • ½ tsp coriander powder
  • Black pepper to taste
  • ¼ tsp garam masala powder
  • 2 tbsp coconut oil
  • Curry leaves
  • Coconut oil for frying onions
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Deep fry the sliced onions in coconut oil until golden brown, being careful not to burn them.
  2. In a bowl, marinate the chicken with ginger-garlic paste, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, black pepper, garam masala powder, and salt.
  3. Add the fried onions to the marinated chicken.
  4. Cook the mixture on medium flame until the chicken is fully cooked and the gravy is thick or reduced to a dry consistency.

Notes

Marinate the chicken for a few hours or overnight for enhanced flavor. Adjust the red chili powder to control the spice level. You can also add vegetables like bell peppers or potatoes for added nutrition.
