  • 12 oz penne, fettuccine, or spaghetti
  • Salt, for the pasta water
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup chicken broth
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
  • Red pepper flakes
  • Fresh lemon juice
  • Sautéed vegetables (optional)
  • Shrimp (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the chicken by seasoning it with salt, pepper, and Cajun seasoning.
  2. Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente.
  3. In a skillet, heat olive oil and cook the chicken until golden and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, melt butter and add minced garlic, cooking until fragrant.
  5. Stir in Cajun seasoning and smoked paprika, followed by heavy cream and chicken broth, simmering until combined.
  6. Add grated Parmesan cheese and stir until melted and smooth.
  7. Combine the cooked pasta and sliced chicken with the cream sauce, mixing well.
  8. Garnish with parsley, red pepper flakes, and a squeeze of lemon juice before serving.
