- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup water
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 cup sugar (for coating)
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon (for coating)
- Cooking spray
Instructions
- In a saucepan, combine the water, butter, and 2 tablespoons of sugar. Bring this mixture to a boil.
- Once it boils, remove it from the heat. Stir in the flour, salt, baking powder, and 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon until a dough forms.
- Let the dough cool for a few minutes, then transfer it to a piping bag.
- Preheat the air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
- Pipe small, bite-sized pieces of dough into the air fryer basket.
- Spray the dough pieces with cooking spray and cook for about 8-10 minutes or until they are golden brown.
- In a bowl, mix together 1/2 cup of sugar with 1 teaspoon of cinnamon.
- Toss the fried churro bites in the cinnamon sugar mixture before serving.
- Serve warm, rolled in cinnamon sugar, and enjoy!
Notes
For a fun twist, add chocolate chips to the dough or drizzle melted chocolate on top after cooking.
