Ingredients
1 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 ¼ cups granulated sugar
1 cup light brown sugar
4 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup cocoa powder
½ teaspoon salt
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
½ cup unsalted butter (softened)
2 cups powdered sugar
2 tablespoons milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Optional: red or green food coloring
Holiday sprinkles for garnish
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
2. Whisk melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together in a bowl.
3. Add eggs and vanilla, mixing until smooth.
4. Sift in flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Fold gently until just combined.
5. Stir in chocolate chips, then spread batter evenly in the prepared pan.
6. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
7. Let brownies cool completely before frosting.
8. Beat softened butter until creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla.
9. Whip until fluffy. Add food coloring if desired.
10. Spread frosting over cooled brownies, top with sprinkles, and slice to serve.
Notes
These Frosted Christmas Brownies can be made ahead of time.
Store unfrosted brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
Frost just before serving for the freshest flavor.
