- 1 lb chicken thighs or breasts
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Oil for frying
- 2 cups all-purpose flour (for biscuits)
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (cold and cubed)
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1–2 teaspoons hot sauce (to taste)
Instructions
- Marinate the chicken in buttermilk for at least 2 hours or overnight.
- In a bowl, mix flour, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Heat oil in a frying pan. Drain chicken and coat in flour mixture. Fry until golden and cooked through.
- For the biscuits, preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt. Cut in butter until crumbly, then stir in milk.
- Roll out dough on a floured surface, cut into rounds, and bake for 12-15 minutes.
- For the hot honey sauce, combine honey and hot sauce in a small saucepan; heat until warm.
- Assemble by placing fried chicken between biscuits and drizzling with hot honey sauce.
Notes
For extra flavor, add some herbs like thyme or parsley to the flour mixture. Refrigerate leftover biscuit dough to bake fresh later.
