- 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Zest of 2 lemons
- 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice
- 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice (for glaze)
- Lemon zest (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, combine melted butter and sugar, mixing until smooth.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then stir in vanilla.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients.
- Stir in lemon zest and juice.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- For the glaze, mix powdered sugar and lemon juice until smooth, then drizzle over cooled brownies.
- Garnish with additional lemon zest if desired.
Notes
Serve with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days.
