Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tbsp melted butter or oil
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract (optional)

Instructions

  • In a bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • In another bowl, mix milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla. Combine wet and dry ingredients until smooth.
  • Heat a nonstick skillet or griddle over medium heat. Lightly grease with butter or oil.
  • Drop small spoonfuls of batter (about 1-2 teaspoons) onto the skillet.
  • Cook for 1-2 minutes until bubbles form, then flip and cook another minute until golden. Repeat with remaining batter.
  • Serve stacked with syrup, fruit, or powdered sugar.
