- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar

Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until fluffy. Add the egg, vanilla extract, and red food coloring, mixing until combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Chill the dough in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
- Roll the dough into small balls. Then, roll each ball in powdered sugar.
- Place the dough balls on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes. Let them cool before serving.
Notes
For a fun presentation, stack cookies on a decorative plate or serve in individual cupcake liners. Store in an airtight container for up to one week, or freeze for up to three months.
