  • Author: Chef Grace
  • Total Time: 50 minutes
  • Yield: 9-12 1x

Ingredients

Scale
For the Brownies:
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ cup dark chocolate chips
For the Caramel Sauce:
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 6 tbsp unsalted butter, cubed
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • ½ tsp sea salt
For Topping:
  • Flaky sea salt

Instructions

  • Make the Caramel Sauce: In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the sugar, stirring constantly until golden brown. Add butter and stir until melted. Slowly pour in heavy cream (careful—it will bubble up!). Stir in sea salt and let cool.
  • Prep the Brownie Batter: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  • Mix the Wet Ingredients: In a bowl, whisk melted butter, sugars, eggs, and vanilla until smooth.
  • Add the Dry Ingredients: Sift in flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder. Fold in chocolate chips.
  • Assemble: Pour half the brownie batter into the pan. Drizzle half of the caramel sauce over it. Add the remaining batter, then swirl the rest of the caramel on top.
  • Bake: Bake for 30-35 minutes until the edges are set but the center is slightly gooey.
  • Finish & Serve: Sprinkle flaky sea salt on top and let cool before slicing into fudgy squares.
