- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1/2 cup heavy cream (optional)
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the steak slices for 2-3 minutes per side until browned. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, sauté onions and mushrooms until soft. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute.
- Sprinkle flour over the mixture, stirring for 1-2 minutes until lightly browned.
- Gradually whisk in beef broth, ensuring no lumps form. Stir in onion powder, garlic powder, paprika, black pepper, salt, and soy sauce.
- Return the steak to the skillet, cover, and let simmer for 20-25 minutes until tender.
- If using, stir in heavy cream for a richer sauce and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and serve over mashed potatoes or rice.
